Just another typical Friday folks. Except this one started at 0330 in the morning when Brooklyn came tromping into my room poking at my ever so closed eyeballs telling me she had to go potty. Why she feels she needs to 1) use my bathroom when the kids bathroom is next to their room, and 2) flip on every light in my room and bathroom to do it is beyond me. So there I am trying to recover from the sudden change of pupil dilation to constriction when she tells me that she wants to get dressed. I'm thinking that she wants to put her pajama top back on. For some reason the girls like to take their pj tops off. Here would be a good time to say.....don't ask questions, I swear they don't get it from me. I tell her that if she turns off my lights I don't care what she does. And THAT was a big mistake to tell a 4 almost 5 year old who has too many thoughts running around her head at any given time, even 0330 in the morning. Next thing I know she is back in my room flipping on my lights, asking me to help her put on her socks and shoes. Socks and shoes I think, sit straight up and force my sleep deprived eyes open. There, standing in front of me is Brooklyn, fully dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, socks and shoes in hand and a big a*$ grin on her face, asking "who's coming over this morning mommy?"
At 0530 I hear Dominic coming down the hall. You can hear the padding of his feet and then he stands over you, staring and breathing like Darth Vader. You keep your eyes shut and try to wish him away, but it doesn't work. So I ask him with one eye open, "What do you need Dom?" "Nothin." "Do you have to go potty?" "Nope." "Then you need to go back to bed." "OK mom." Off he goes, with a quick little scamper. I close my eyes again, when what do I hear? But Dominic bellowing song at the top of his lungs! I jump out of bed to shut this concert down...before I have all 3 kids up. I find him in the girl's room. All the lights are on (from Brooklyn getting her clothes) and he is doing a little jig around Kennedy's bed, chanting and spinning around with one of Kennedy's stuffed animals on his head! What could possibly be his reason for doing this? His response....I dunno. Apparently it was the I already wet my bed song and dance and he thought he would share his disbelief in the matter with the whole neighborhood!
I finally get everyone back down, but of course then I can't go back to sleep. Ahh, I like to think sleep is over-rated, it makes me feel better. That and a glass of wine....cheers
